Default Is this the cover everyone says to remove?

I've had a small coolant leak for a few months, I noticed today that it was leaking from this plate, ice read some posts about removing a cover plate but haven't seen any pics of what it actually looks like.

I assume the cover overflowed finally and is now leaking out. The truck isnt overheating and still has coolant in it. Im just curious if this cover serves a purpose

Not a wide enough shot, but I think so. Can you get a wider angle?

Remove that entire assembly, it's Land Rover's version of a vehicle diaper

FWIW they only came on 03-04s, probably in response to owners complaining about oil stains on their driveways.

I took mine off a number of years ago when I did my first oil change after purchasing the truck.

I was curious and just looked out the parts catalog. LR named it as a panel for sound deadening.

I am not sure if it really dampens road noise. I am also wondering if perhaps it may be beneficial for preventing dust contamination into the engine bay when wheeling in dusty conditions. But the advantage of having it off (to easily inspect the underneath of the engine) far outweighs having it on.

I ended up with Brandon318's old one a while back, It doesn't fit my car so if anyone wants its theirs. Need it gone and will ship it to you for the cost of the box + shipping!
