Default Crank case position sensor questions

Just replaced my sensor - was having issues with stalling and no start which I could not find a cause except for CPS failure, so went ahead and replaced.

Questions
1. Is there supposed to be a gasket between the CPS and mounting surface - if yes what is the part number.

2. I did not reuse the mounting bracket, am I asking for a problem. Did not see a reason to use, and with order vehicles using CPS have never seen a bracket.

Installed the CPS and it did start (would not start before the sensor replacement)

UK

Issues I was having
- stalling sometimes at stop lights/signs
- intermittent no starts
- and on "ultra gauge", sometimes I get and error, especiallyallythe engine temp reading

How I replaced
- did not touch the exhaust
- removed heat cover from below
- remove sensor from below
- removed bracket from below
- used a metal cloths hanger to pull sensor up to driver side of engine
- removed bracket by pushing on on tab
- disconnected CPS connection from wire harness (from to side)
- reconnected new CPS from the top side
- should of put bracket back on from to side but did not
- allowed CPS to fall back down
- reinstalled

Far easier to do than the first time I replaced 6 months ago - but really wish wire from vehicle was longer

Did you reinstall those little silver spacers before the sensor?
You really need those!

Yes i reused the spacers - and installed those after sensor was put on - then the nuts.

I got the CPS at advance auto parts - which does not come with a gasket.
