Default Currently stuck, truck immobilized.

hey guys! Well this is embarrassing. I immobilized my truck a few minutes ago and I'm currently stuck. Had a couple questions.

I'm try by to enter the EKA code 1515. I'm reading online that there's an audible beep when its ready to accept the code. Is that from the horns? I don't have the little speaker in my instrument cluster and no factory radio, so if its either of those I won't hear it.

Second, do I need a factory key? I'm using a recut key with no fob. Its all I've got.

Thanks!

Well I never heard any beeps and the light was still flashing like mad, but she started this time. Who knows.

She got immobilized because my key wouldn't unlock the door. "Luckily" my rear hatch doesn't lock. I crawled in through the back, tried to start the truck, and it freaked out.

Well, at least you're runnin' again, I'm not lookin forward to when this happens to me; seems like a twisted mire of bullsh*t to figure out.. I think there's a way to turn off the alarm altogether, probly need a hawkeye or similar to do it tho.

I did some research on it some while back and couldn't find a way to disable the immobilizer. If I found one I'd do it in a heartbeat, though.

Half a mind at some point to just replace the ECU/BCU. Doing a manual swap when my transmission dies anyway, so that would be a good time to do it. Then I could get a custom engine tune and I wouldn't have to worry about any security systems.

Alas, I've got plenty of big ideas and neither enough time or money to do them. Haha

I had a weird issue once when I must have done some bumping of the buttons on the fob and the result was that turning the key did nothing at all!

I did find out though doing that (whatever I did to cause it) threw a security related code that I cleared using my Ultragauge, then all was normal. The code did not show on the dash. But with the key on the UG powered up and viola!!!

Something to keep in mind, if you're at least in the car when it happens, check for codes.

Same thing...when this happens, I get out, lock and unlock the doors. It goes away. I'm not sure if locking the doors with a key would work, or using the switch on the dash.
