Cv joint replacement
Ok one is clicking, this weekend didn’t help it 😁. So how hard is it to remove the cv joint from the axle shaft?
and while I am there
replace seals
ball joints ??
and should I do both cv joints ?

That depends on weather you replace it a a full unit or replace just the CV joint, as full unit will probably need the gear oil draining, but if you keep the drive shaft in and can remove the CV not as messy, but you still need to remove the hub and brake disc, caliper and it a lot cheaper to do just the CV it self
It knocks right off with brass hammer, hold axle shaft and hammer it off.
Remove wheel center hub cap, and then remove axle nut while wheel is on the ground. Much easier, unless you have impact.

OK so I found this kit

And should I also do my ball joints too? I dont think they have ever been done and has 175k on it

Hi a Bearmach kit is £31, but the having bought from them in the past they guarantee every item for 3 years, I have had stuff thats failed not a lot I may add just the odd item ,and they have replaced it with out a problem or refunded the cost of the item
Removing the axel is not as difficult as it seems. Putting it back in is surprisingly easy. You would think it would be difficult to line up the splines but my experience is has been relative easy.
Ball joints are another story. Unless you are sure they are shot I suggest not replacing them or consider hiring someone to do them. That is a much bigger job.

I figured since I am there. also the hubs are about 3-4 years old and the rest has been all updated so after cv joints the only thing left will be ball joints lol
