D2 CV Boot Replacement
I'm having trouble keeping the boot on while clamping it, and when I clamp it slips off. Any recommendations on how to solve this? I've gone through 3 clamps of the 10 I have.
That hub nut really should be torqued off with all four tires on the ground. Not great for the differential gears to have that amount of force placed on them in that manner.
Also just checking that you popped open the stake. If you didn't, it'll be really difficult to remove.

It's a best practice but you could probably run the old nut just fine. They're so inexpensive though, it's a good idea to get a new one. Kind of one of those high-risk, low-reward situation since the stakes are pretty catastrophic if the nut backs off or fails for some reason.
I'm currently running the old nut while I order a new nut. I torqued them down with all 4 tires on the ground, with logs to chock the wheels and gf pressing on the brakes.
Did you re-stake them? That's the most important part.
