Question D2 Loss of power, late shifting, check engine light - newly tuned

I just got my 2001 Discovery 2 (with about 170,000 miles) back from the mechanic a week ago. It was at the mechanic for the same issues that I've started having again today. For the past week, up until last night, it drove awesomely - like better than it has anytime recently.

Then, all the sudden last night, I start to feel it shift just a little late. I thought I was being paranoid, but then the engine also starts to feel a little more rough, and I felt a small loss in power while accelerating. As I pulled into my driveway, the check engine light came on (not flashing).

The check engine light was still on this morning (not flashing). Now the shifting is even later and the loss of power is more dramatic.

Like I said before, these are all the exact same symptoms that I just took it in for. On my way to the garage for this last service, I was starting to worry that it might actually stall out or lose power while I was driving. Acceleration was the worst; idling didn't feel quite as bad.

I know something needs to be done before I drive it - but I'm perplexed at the literally perfect driving that it was doing over the past week, only to fall back into the exact same pre-tune-up issues.

Anyone have a similar experience, or any thoughts on what this could be? I feel like the O2 sensor could cause some of these issues?

Kelli

Do you have access to a scanner to check for codes? That could help out a ton to help diagnose the propblem

No - probably not a bad investment if I'm going to own (and love) these cars, right? 😉

I'll have to wait till tomorrow to take it somewhere and have them read.

What all did they do when they worked on it. That will help some. Could be anything from a maf to iacv or o2 sensors, a bad coil pack, etc

Were the coils replaced?

Okay so the codes I am getting are:

P1170 - Manufacturer controlled fuel and air monitoring
P0137 - Oxygen Circut low voltage bank 1 sensor 2

At my last visit, the mechanics:

Checked ignition coils; replaced 2
Replaced spark plug wire set, 8 wires
Replaced lower plenium gasket set
Replaced valve covers
All fluids

Thoughts?
Thanks
