Default D2 parts truck - worth it?

I can get a 2001 d2 for parts quite cheap, 500 or so. I have a 2003 d2 and wonder if enough parts are interchangeable for it to make sense to buy it. Both trucks are Oslo blue and I could would change out my front door for example. Maybe swap xfer case since mine doesn't switch to low. I don't need bumpers, and know lights are different. Has 16 inch rims in nice shape, decent lug nuts, etc. parts truck has 148k and doesn't run but is in nice shape otherwise. I have plenty of storage for it, but think maybe smarter for me to just pick parts I need and not take the whole thing.

Thanks for any thoughts!

Not a bad deal, just remember 1 has a 4.0 the other a 4.6 but they too can be interchanged.

the trannys are different also, but if you have the whole truck you will have everything needed. I would say $500 is the going rate for a disco parts truck,
there are aton of them out there with HG and other major problems.

There is quite a bit different from 99-02 to 03-04. Pan hard rod, interior colors, engine, transmission, front bumpers, head lights, turn signals, many of the computers are different, air cleaner, maf, air intake hose, front brakes and probably more. It's probably still worth it, depending on why it doesn't run. You might even be able to get it to run for cheap, sell it for $1200 and find and even closer match for a parts car.

You did really well.
The drive shaft is worth nearly that.
And if it has a cargo cover - that's worth a few bills too.

Great, thanks all. I'll check it out tomorrow and see how cheap I can get it for. Had an arb bumper but that was sold separately...I was charged around $400 for a front differential when that broke on a trip so I figured $500 wasn't a bad deal.
Motor spins but doesn't run and air suspension is shot. Body looks great, nice running boards, etc.
