Your arms will. you wont be able to turn once it all went out on you. Try without turning the engine on, then try if you can steer it. It will be same as without the power steering. Better to fix it than driving without.

New Nachi 6302 installed to the PS pump output shaft.
Heated shaft @ 350 degrees for 20 or 30 mins while bearing sat in the freezer.
Install of new unit wasn't half the battle that removing the orig unit was...

Placed the assembled unit into the freezer to cool off for a while.
Now I will order the seal kit & update with the reassembly next time.

Surely the other way around Chubbs, you would need to shrink the shaft in the freezer and allow the bearing to expand in ambient temp or heat up to 40-50C.

Unless you're Herculean or a male gorilla PAS is essential and near impossible to steer without it.
