Unhappy D2 Rear Air Suspension Problem

hey all. trucks running great and i've had no problems, no lights!

and then i realized....something isn't quite right in the mirror.

for whatever reason, my rear suspension wasn't autoleveling. so i pulled into a parking lot, checked all the doors, put it in drive and hit the "Raise" button...and nothing happened expect that it dinged once and the dash light started blinking.

no noises, no leaking air noise....just..nothing.

drove under 30 for about 10 minutes and it dinged 3 times, and the light kept blinking...for another 10.

turned the car off and back on and no lights or bells. it's just acting like it's perfectly normal.

that was about 4 days ago and both bags have continued to deflate at the same rate until now they are good and flat (And about 3in. under standard ride).

SO! obviously it's a compressor issue. but is it a fuse? is it the leveling sensor hydraulic arm? is it a line somewhere?

my planned solutions: 1. spring replacement 2. go ahead and do my lift.

h e l p m e. also i just relocated to the DC area so i'm not familiar with any of the shops here.

i think i'd like to swap out the springs and make it more drive-able.

Embarrassingly, it's been over a month since I've been able to visit this problem. Popped the hood, checked the engine bay fuse block...lo and behold...the FL 30amp fuse was blown. Conclusion? Cooked compressor.

LIFT KIT TIME!

I just had an issue with my suspension as well and have found out that the the SLABS is toast, according to the dealer. Well I want a lift too so I figure I will not be using my system but I need the truck for snow while waiting for it to arrive. For those that need an emergency fix I used a $14 iar shock kit from NAPA and just plumbed the airbags through the T fitting and used my air compressor to raise it up. Yes it is not the perfect set up but at least you can get back on the road again.

So, for what it is worth, if you liked the SLS ride, you can still do up to a 3" lift using the SLS and spacers from either RTE or Lucky8 as I did and that truck has gone everywhere with it.

I do not know the part number and I cannot find the bag it came in. I just asked for an air shock air line replacement kit. You will need to drill out the receiving T-fitting with a size 22 or similar drill bit so our air lines will fit in. You will also need to cut the brass male end off of the air line, I did mine about an inch up from the valve block. Once that is done it is simple. I charged the air compressor in the garage and it aired up just fine and has hel pressure for more than a week. The good news is you can always add air at a gas station if you wanted to.

I like the airbags and I may still try to lift it using a spacer while using a version of my set up. My compressor is just fine so all I need to do is out an inline pressure gauge and a switch to run the compressor when I need it. It eliminates the SLABS ECU and the height sensors and would work soley on what the pressure reading is. I know this is no the ideal set up or solution but for the price it could not be beat and it got me back on the road in about 20 15 minutes.
