Hey everyone

I have been pondering the idea of using the rear hubs of a D2 for our expo trailer project and was wondering if I still needed to have the axle shaft bolted into the hub assembly to hold it together.
I know the hub is bolted by four bolts to a flange but I was thinking to just cut down a axle shaft to basically a stub shaft and bolting back into the hub.
I would like to use these hubs so if we ever had a hub failure I could grab one from the trailer atleast and I can use D2 rims on the trailer.

Any thoughts?
