Just made this roof rack by following another member jean billions thread and plans. I just can't figure out how to make mounts above the doors since therea hardly any space. I also don't want to mess up the trim.

Any ideas? even just seeing the shape of your mounts if you bought a rack would be really helpful

I would check your local junkyard for van roof rack brackets or buy the van roof racks on ebay as they're quite cheap.

Thanks, I might have a plan now. I figured out a way to make the bends, theyre ugly but seem to fit... going to fix them up tomorrow.

 

I bought van brackets (as mentioned above) for around $50. Had to slightly modify them by putting a .250" aluminum spacer in between the two components but it's been working out really well supporting my RTT.

 

I absolutely love that rack. How much would you charge to make one for me?
