D2 sunroof leak help
Everything here is true but one huge piece is missing:
These leak between the plastic sunroof frame (that goes in from above the car, not below) and the metal roof of the car. The upper plastic frame is only held on by adhesive tape that has gaps, and that adhesive bond has usually perished by now in 2024. You need to remove the upper plastic frame (by dropping the lower metal frame) and remove it, clean it, and sikaflex under it to seal.
3 leak points on these:
1) Between roof and plastic sunroof exterior frame
2) Rubber seal under glass lets too much water into tray
3) The drain nozzles break off and the plastic drain trays come unbonded from the metal lower sunroof tray.
#1 cannot be ignored -- it is a huge leak failure point.
