Default D2 Throttle Body:

Was working on a D2 this weekend and the famous TBH came up as the D2 I was working was just starting to get all nice and crusty as it was seeping. I explained to the owner the reason for it & the myth that if you remove it you're throttle will stick & it's game over. I grabbed the TB and went WOT & let it loose. Then as I went back to work I got to the point where I needed to remove the CC/TB cables. Went to rotate the TB & it was Frozen solid...... Now mind you truck isn't running not at 5-10,000ft in a snow storm.... So TBH has no effect on this lol.

Just like 5 years ago I removed the completely seized TB (got it to finally break free and rotate by tapping the TB plate with a small sledge and small plastic rod as to not damage anything).

I removed the 3 screws securing the TB plate inside the TB, and it was gross. Nice thick covering of oil all over it. I used a buffing wheel cleaned the outside edge and then buffed it smooth with some steel wool/scotchbrite pads. Then I did the same to the TB itself. Slapped it back together and no way it will stick again for a VERY VERY VERY long time.

TBH was deleted as it was leaking, PCV was installed (OEM baffle was completely clogged & no surprise there....).

I truly believe anyone that claims their TB "froze" up and blames the TBH plate being removed for it = actually just has a TB housing assembly that needs to be cleaned/buffed. This one was truly gross from the oil going into the intake so it makes WAY more sense vs the mythical Sasquatch BS.

If you never have taken your TB off and cleaned it I highly recommend it. The owner was shocked at the TB sticking & how the oem baffle was clogged. They absolutely loved my PCV upgrade & that D2 is running better than new now!
