throttle body cleaning, 2001 D2
This was easy to do. Using CNC Throttle Bottle Cleaner, and placing a rag bellow the opening, a couple of sprays and cleanup with lint free cloths, did the job. I did manage to clean the contact area between the body and the gate, but only facing outward.
Is there a simple way of removing the throttle cables without the need of getting feeler gauges to reset them? I would like to get the job done right. Thanks for all comments.

Shouldn't ever need a set of feeler gauges to adjust the throttle cable/cruise control cables on a D2. You just adjust them with a pair of 13mm open end wrenches. I'd make each one sit about 2mm away from the plate. That way you'll have excellent throttle response and your cruise control won't surge.
By using my cheap plastic verniers, the outer cable plate (closer to you) spacing is 3-4 mm. The inner cable plate spacing is closer to 1 mm or less. There is not much rotation that can be had in order to remove the cables from the throttle body. The ends are in pretty good.
OK, got the wires off, the job is now finish. I think next year, Q-tips dipped in the cleaner should do going around the seam between the throttle plate and body. A rag just does not do the job.
