Just took my D2 to Sandlake (Oregon) on Friday. I have a CDL and have installed a D1 linkage. Gotta say I was impressed with the abilities of such a heavy vehicle in very soft sand conditions. The traction control was not activating as much as I thought it would, and I had my foot planted to the floor several times!

Had lots of fun! Hope to post some pics later.

Do they have big dunes, huge bowls and tall drops there or is it basically just driving on the beach? I thought Pismo was the last ocean front dunes you could run. Nice to know there are more out there to play on.

Florence, Oregon. and Sandlake, Oregon. Not sure about Washington. But we also have great dunes at Winchester Bay and Coos Bay.

Sandlake is fairly small, has 2 good sized bowls, camping on and off the dunes, beach-front (Florence is too. But much, much bigger!) and is only about 1.5hrs from home vs. 3.5hrs to Florence. My pictures only show a small mound I was playing on.

I have never been to Pismo, but have talked to people that have done both Pismo and Florence. They tell me honestly that Florence is way less crowded and easier to enjoy. I enjoy the fact that the hills can change overnight.

OMG - you guys are probably going to be severly fined for having a hUmMeR off the pavement. Its against the law in all states to get one of those durty.
