At 153k any Bosch/GEMS oil pump could fail. On the 03 the issue was the alignment pin/dowl being off caused extra stress on the oil pump & they died very very quickly. Some as low as 25 miles, and I think the highest I’d seen right up to 04 was maybe 7k. You would just be driving along, oil light, and boom done deal.

 

My 03 falls under that vin. But looking over the records and called the dealership where it was serviced they don’t have any record of the engine being replaced

but I’m not sure if the records go that far
it says my 2003 was serviced in June of 2002
and new owner registered was in May 2003
