Default Definitive guide to CDL transfer case swap?

Hey all, have a 2002 Disco 2. I really want to do the cdl transfer case upgrade. I’ve been reading a bit, but have yet to find a definitive guide on how it’s done. From what I’ve gathered it seems pretty straight forward, just a matter of swapping the transfer cases. My question mainly revolves around the electrical. Lights on the dash etc... I know a lot of you have done it. Has anybody documented it?

For the dash lights, all you need is an 03/04 SLABS. No wiring required.

You are, however, going to have to make sure you've got the transfer case solenoid wired correctly. On the later models, the solenoid is on the shifter rather than the back of the transfer case.

Wiring for the solenoid is the same. Just bypass whichever solenoid you want (I prefer to use the 04 solenoid) but it’s easier to keep the setup you currently have.

A G R E E D. You mentioned me doing this earlier this year and now that I’m on the other side of the CDL installation, SO glad I did the ‘04 solenoid spot. I think the previous version is actually super idiotic. Well, maybe not idiotic. I see what they were doing. If the solenoid failed, it would plunge in the most probable, safest position since gravity would draw the rod downward. But what a cluster if you’re in low gear when it fails.
