What is the difference in the 2000 and 2004 model transfer case? Is there any issue putting in the 04 case in a 00 model? I know the Transmissions were different and a bit longer but do not know if the Tcase is the same or not?

 

03 and 04 don't have the safety solenoid in the transfer case try had it in the shifter, so you'd no longer have that feature in the 00 if you use an 04 case.

The 04 has two switches for the CDL light on the dash. I have no idea why, and I'm not sure of the harness arrangement, but I'm sure you could make it work just by hooking up one switch. Maybe even both in parallel.

 

I believe that not all the transfer cases from 04 have CDL.

 

I've never seen one that didn't, but anything is possible.
