detecting crank sensor fault
Can Rovacom or similar diagnostics detect a crank sensor failure? I'm getting no OBD II codes. I replaced my malfunctioning AC condensor fan, but I my research here tells me this could be my "crank but no start when warm" culprit.
I am not familliar with the rovacom, the factory diag tool has a "no start" test, which starts with a reluctor ring tooth count as measred by the ckps. If this count does not increase when cranking the sensor is bad.
dont forget the hour and a half diag... if not, and its not the right repair, as in it might only be an immboilization resync, you will be responsible for any further diag as to why its not fixed...
I had it scheduled for a diagnostic anyway due to a tranny fault I received. I did an OBD II scan myself and came-up with nothing, not that my check engine light came on.
