Default DII Driveshaft Zert Fittings

I was checking out my buddy's DII front driveshaft (that doesn't sound right does it.....). I noticed that the truck had a zert fitting on the forward u-joint but not on the two nearest the transfer case. Is that normal? (I told him to have them all replaced nonetheless) thanks Phil

Yeah that's how they come from the factory, with sealed joints. You were right to tell him to replace them with greasable one's (replace the centering ball too). Make sure he does it asap, they tend to break unexpectedly and take out the tranny with it. Take a search here, you'll find plenty about it.

Alright, zerk fittings. The factory put one in the front u-joint but didn't put any in the two u-joints at the other end of the driveshaft? Thanks again for the reply. Phil

Yes, that is correct. No grease zerks on the double cardon joint.
