DII Saved My Life
Don't have pictures right now, but I wanted to post here about what happened to me.
On Saturday night in Las Vegas, a woman driving a 2007 Camry ran a red light going ~50 mph and t-boned my DII.
I'm not the healthiest person around right now, but I'm alive and eventually I'm going to be okay, and I believe down to my core that not only am I only alive because my disco protected me and that it's a good thing I was hit, because the nice doctor and his kind wife in the tiny bmw z3 behind me would be dead as a doornail if I wasn't there and they got hit instead.
The woman who hit me wasn't so lucky, and it's never good to think about someone dying, but it's an overwhelming relief to know that my Rover is just as trustworthy and safe as I always believed it was, and it's an honor to say my disco saved my life.
I'm a little more of a better paid grownup now than I was when I first bought m disco, so I'm going to buy either a late-model LR3 or a new LR4 to replace it, but I'm incredibly proud of my truck. She bent the frame pretty badly, it's totaled but it did it's job.
Hopefully you guys feel a little safer reading this.

We are glad you are safe.
As for the weight class, D1 = 4455 pounds, D2 = 4928 pounds, and LR3 tips the scales at 5796 pounds. The Camry was about 3378 pounds. Kinetic energy that had to be converted by the car and the truck crumple zones was huge, it increases by the square of the velocity. Like over 275,000 foot-pounds.
