Dilemma
Hey Guys And galls,I have a question I bought a motor out of a wrecked 03 it has 130,000 I put the new motor in and it runs great,But My question is Iam rebuilding the motor that over heated I pulled the heads off and sure enough the gaskets are toasted so Iam going to put in a new gasket set And I bought a pair of refurbished Heads I just have this Does the trick I hope that the block is okay the top of the pistons show no signs of steam cleaning so what do y’all think?how do I know if the block is ok?I hate to do all this top end work and still have the same problem water in the oil,Before i tore into the motor I texted the compression and Iam in the safe zone it started right up and there was no ticking noises and idled perfectly and it was full of water in the oil it was All the way up the dipstick so if you were in my shoes what would you do?Once I get the motor going Iam most likely am going to keep it as a back up or sell it.
#1: Pressure test the block
#2: check the flatness of the block
#3: if you've already pulled the motor and the above 2 tests are good, then drain the oil and open up the bottom end so that you can replace the bearings
#4: rebuild with new bearings and all metal cometic gaskets
