Default Disco 2 Rolled into ditch fusebox soaked

I posted a thread about my Disco 2. I rolled into a ditch full of water and mud. Thank you to those guys who posted very helpful replies !
They were much appreciated!!

The car is at a local garage. The fusebox had been submerged and where the windshield was smashed the subsequent rain had soaked the internal electrics too because the garage had neglected to cover it!

Apart from the obvious drying it all out.

Would it be more sensible to replace the fusebox, fuses, relays etc.

And is there anything else I should look out for?

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Hopefully, everyone is alright.

I would swap out the fusebox and relays. The fuses should be fine, but for a few more bucks - replace them. How "under" (submerged) was the cabin while in the ditch? Should you worry about replacing the computers, seat heaters, relays under the seat?

Somebody on one of the forums recently had their under-hood fuse box get wet because of the coolant expansion tank. They were able to take it apart and clean it out, and everything got better. Like coors said, I'd be concerned about the computers too. Almost all of them are on the right side, under the dash. You can take them apart, and if they are just wet, I'd dry them with a hairdryer or just let them air dry.

If you are having starting issues and since your interior also got wet, I would pull both the ECU and the BCU, inspect and dry them out.
You may have other issues but between the ECU's and replacing the fuse block, you may be back in business.

THe fuse block inside the truck includes the IDM module which controls all sorts of things, not just relays back there.

I would not be scared about rain water into electronics, but would very first disconnect battery and dry as much as possible with a heating fan left running at a temperature that will not harm wiring insulation -say 50 Celsius-

From your post, I assume the muddy water got to the engine compartment fuse box, not the interior.
For electronics/wiring/connectors/fuses soaked in murky water; buy a lot (gallon?) of 50% isoprophylic (rubbing) alcohol at the store and spray/brush/rinse thoroughly several times all crevices possible.
Fuses and relays unplugged, inspect health of their pins and sockets. Take care of replacing back everything where it belongs.

Then pray.

I remeber his original post, he drives a TD5 on the wrong side of the road.
Dry everything out, dont replace it unless it is bad.
Once dried out it should be fine.
I am really surprised it was not totaled.
