disco 2.... wont start
hi,
basically my 52 plate disco td5 wont start.
new fuel pump fitted, new filter houseing replaced.
fuel pressure is approx 5 bar at the return on fuel pressure regulator... is this right, i was under the impression it should be approx 3 bar??
so fuel pressure is to high??
no smoke from exhuast on cranking, but have fuel at injectors??
any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks dickie

RE: disco 2.... wont start
Did the problem start with the replacement of the fuel pump?I have no idea what the pressures should be, but if you're getting fuel at the injectors, I would check the glow plugs. I know that getting air in the lines can be tricky with a diesel, make sure fuel is getting to all of the injectors.

Glow plugs make no difference here, unless you are in a really cold area, if you are in the UK no worries with them.
When ever you run a diesel out of fuel you must purge the fuel system, if air gets in the fuel lines it wont start until you get it all out.
You can crank the hell out of it, or you can bleed the system. Not sure how you do it, on big trks we just crank the hell out of them until they start.
