Default Disco bonnet sun fading?

My late summer disco 2 came with major bonnet sun fading or poor paint? rest of car looks ok except for the roof above windshield. I tried new finish polish. Not much help there. My only options are, repaint or a bonnet decal. Any thoughts from the guru's here?

This is a commuter vehicle. I am a fed park ranger who lives in rule south. So this is just a beater commuter and my backpacking vehicle for remote trailheads.

Cheers

Have a local shop wrap it, or just call L8 for a blackout kit > https://www.lucky8llc.com/collection...-hood-blackout

And you are back to HAPPY TOWN!!!

If you want to spray the hood on the cheap (about $15.00 all in) with a very durable product try Duplicolor TR250 truck bed coating. You can get it at any auto parts store and you only need 1 can.

I use this on brushbars all the time and it goes on real easy plus it has very little texture when you spray on in light coats. Prep is nothing more than rough up the surface with a 3m red pad, remove dust, apply masking tape/paper, and spray.
Once dry, topcoat with a clear or black paint with UV protection (that's most paint just read the label). If you don't this stuff will fade to a gray color.
TR250 looks like this > https://www.summitracing.com/parts/shw-tr250
