Default Disco I and II code reader. Please read!

Hi! I have a 95 Disco I, and I have had a lot of problems since I bought it. I need a nice and cheap code reader. Also, I think that I am going to sell this car because it uses gas, and then buy a diesel one.

Could anyone tell me which is the best value for money code reader I can buy? Will it work in a Disco I and II?

Thanks!!

My 95 Disco 1 does not have a connector for a Code Reader. Rather it has a fault display under the passenger front seat. Poor gas mileage is just a result of needing a good tune up. There is a list on this forum that outlines what you need to do. You should be getting about 16 mpg.

Forget your plans for a diesel if you live in the states. Won't pass emissions in any state, and a conversion costs literally ten times the trucks worth. I've been eyeing that Jetta TDI though...

I live in Guatemala.... Diesel here is cheaper than Gas because Gas pays a lot of taxes... About 20% cheaper....

All vehicles from 96 and newer are OBD2 systems and can be read by any scanner except for ABS, SLS or SRS faults which takes a much more expensive scanner and software.
