Default Disco II Front Drive Shaft...questions..pics

Hi all!

Just recently purchased a 2004 Disco II with 108K. I am starting to look at the drive train and diagnose some common issues.

I am getting a slight vibration at 30mph, and 49-52mph, and 60-65mph. Haven't had her higher than 65 yet.

I have heard horror stories about the front prop shafts. How does mine look? Just want to know if it looks good, or if it needs to be replaced ASAP.

Also, any other suggestions for a first Land Rover owner?

Thanks!

Looks oem to me, so time's a -wastin' on rebuild or replace. With no grease fittings, it dries out, little vibration, maybe a chirp or two, then it spits and beats a hole in transmission case. Rebuild now under $100, replace with fully greasable after market, a little more. Or wait for a $7000 dealer transmission swap.

Here is my front DS when I changed it. The bearings were very dry and stiff Probably didn't have far to go. I got really lucky by changing it when I did. The bearing cups were shiny and dry . The bearings were completely dried out.
I am glad we made it to Denver otherwise I may have had to junk it and probably wouldn't be married still.
Trannys are expensive I would rebuild asap if I were you.

The front driveshaft on my 02 did not vibrate or make any noises but I had to rebuild it just for the peace of mind.
