Disco just got back from dealer service
I took my disco 04 to Pasadena dealer on Sat. I'm at 49k miles, almost end of warranty. My probs were: service engine light on/off intermittently, A/C (at 62 degrees auto) is blowing hot air in the morning and windshield fogging up bigtime.
I picked it up Thur afternoon. Regarding the service engine light problem, they said it's P0441, so they replaced purge valve and purge hose. Then, Fri morning, the light came back on!!! Why? Could it be another problem/different code? I already made an appt to bring it back tomorrow. But just can't understand why the light would come back on right away, it just came back from being serviced? Don't they hire "good" mechanics? Did they misdiagnose? (i'm just venting out my frustration...)
Also, on the other 2 problems, they were not able to duplicate the problem. They said some fogging at start up will be normal until ac compressor comes on. I'm not buying that. Because the other cars i've owned in the past (although disco is my absolute favorite) didn't have this problem. I've never experienced fogging during warm weather (spring SoCal weather at 85-95 deg). And hot air when AC is turned on? It's really hot air blowing for a good 2-3 minutes. Why couldn't the official LR service technician figure out my problem?
I am searching this forum for past posts regarding my problems. I'll print them out and take them to the LR technician tomorrow.

I would say they mis-diagnosed it but either way no way of knowing until you take it back. As far as the fogging goes you may want to check your coolant level to confirm your heater core is not leaking and therefore producing a fog of sorts. Does it seem like a water based fog that goes away or is it more of a film?
My bet is the a/c drain tubes are probably plugged, this fogging issue is not normal.
If you want to find out what is wrong, go by your local auto parts store and have them read the codes for you, it is usually free.

X2 on that. My tubes were clogged last spring and it would fog in the morning. Wasn't until hot water started pouring on my foot that I did anything about it. Cleand the tubes, and no fog since.
I have an 03 disco with similar service engine light issues. I replaced the gas cap and purge valve and traced the entire pos press emissions system. I have not found the culprit yet for OBDII code P1453. Did you ever get any resolution of what was wrong? I would greatly appreciate some feedback. Here is a listing of repair in the even you have questions for me:
Replaced serpentine belt tensioner
Front drive shaft
Upgraded to 04 transfer case
crankshaft position sensor
