Disco Rim/Tire Question
#12
I just replaced my tires. I was so impressed by the performance of the Yokohama Geolander A/T-S that I put a second set on. I got 80k+ miles out of them & they probably would have been good for another 10k if I hadn't bent a tie rod & wore the fronts uneven on a long trip.
My truck is on the road 95% of the time & they handle really well. The Geolanders are awesome in the snow too.

I guess the way some people drive rovers causes them to get ridiculous mileage on their tires. I've hear of people getting close to 100k on BFG All Terrains. I've had a set of the Yokohama Geolander A/T-S in the stock size, and I didn't think they were too terribly hard. I didn't put many miles on them though... I took them off and put the much larger BFG Mud Terrain KM2's on instead.

Grabber AT2's
I've got about 3000 winter miles on my Grabber AT2's and I think they do a great job in the snow. Not studded (though I'm kicking myself for not doing it when they were new) but they are 235/85r16, so they're skinny and thus dig in pretty well.
I swap my 18's back on during the warm months.
