Default Disco Won't Start

Hello all, again.

Matt here:

2002 Land Rover Discovery SE
150k miles

The truck started overheating on me a few weeks ago. I walked it home and swapped out the water pump, the thermostat and the thermostat to water pump hose assembly. Before doing the job, I sprayed a bunch of engine cleaner all over the block to clean it up a bit. Rinsed everything off, cleaned what I could get my hands on and swapped out the above parts.

Put it all back together and tried to start it and nothing. It has power, crankshaft rotates and has a brand new Starter.

Sounds loud when attempting to start.

Oh where oh where to begin? Crankshaft Position Sensor???

thanks for your response.

Matt

Click the FOB five times to unlock and lock and unlock the rover.
See if that helps.

Also -
check any wires you remembered you removed for doing the job.

Pull off a plug wire, attach a spare plug, lay on mainifold, crank and check for sparks. No sparks could be CKP sensor.

Check to be sure fuel pump runs for a couple of seconds when key turned to position 2. Won't keep running unless engine is turning and ECU knows it.

Some parts stores actually rent/loan code readers. Or if a pal has one, it will usually work (OBDII has been standard for many years).
