I don't have a remote, so I use the key to lock/unlock the driver's side door. Well, the key won't turn in the lock anymore - thus I can't lock the doors. Is this symptomatic of a bad actuator, or is there something mechanically wrong with the lock itself?

I have this same issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, What problem you got now is nothing to do with the Actuator...You have got a link Rod which connects the Key Barrel with the Actuator. This Link Rod is always getting damaged and you can't get it separately from Land Rover. They will sell it to you including the Door Handle and that has to be ordered using your VIN and will take days to come...We have got this Link Rod separately if you want it...The cost will be GBP25 + Shipping...

I was replacing the actuator on the passenger side and lost the short linking rod. My local LR dealer could order it for $21. Luckily, I found the rod the next day. Getting to it is the hard part. You probably have to remove the window frame. The RAVE manual was a big help.

Dear Solo,

Why you had to replace the whole actuator when you got the chance to buy the motor only? I know you did email me but I really got too busy and couldn't reply you instantly...hope I can help in other things later

Default Is this what's causing my problem, too?

My drivers door will no longer lock using the key. I do not have a FOB so I just lock manually, like in the old days. I can push down the lock **** when I'm inside the truck, so it doesn't appear to be a mechanical issue in that respect. The door lock button on the console locks/unlocks all doors but for the driver's door. Is this an actuator electrical issue, or is it possible I've got gunk in the keyhole causing it to bind?

Default Part number for "short linking rod"?

Anyone have a PN or proper description for this linking rod? Can't find on any of the usual parts web sites. Sure would like to be able to lock my doors again!

Dear, You'll not get it from any parts seller other than us. Because Land Rover is not selling it separately. You can get it along with the handle which has to be ordered using your VIN and will take about 10days...if your Vehicle is RHD then the PN CXB103000H if it's LHD then CXB103030H but our PN for the PIN only is CXB103030H-PIN. We have made it in here locally and we sold many...
