Guys,

I am looking to add some additional switches to my D2. I know the D1 had the neat two and three gang panels where our coin tray and ashtray is currently. Are these direct swap-in? If not, has anyone ever swapped them over?

Yep, that fits. It used to be a common modification.

Just know if you put it in a facelift 03/04 the fascias are black so it doesn’t match the color. Better for 99-02 in other words, if you care about such things.

 

Where do you get the switches? Part #?

 

I've been finding a lot of them on eBay. Some of the supports are cracked. Once I get a decent bracket, I'll do a 3D model and post it.

Do these just slot right into the ashtray and coin area? What about the push/pop mechanism that they use. Does that need to be removed/broken/modified?

The D1 panel works but the switches aren't standard so I opted to 3d print this panel which fits in the same spot and uses carling switches.
