Default Discovery 2 ecu replacement

Hey dudes,

Does anyone know if I can replace/tune a new ecu with a regular Hawkeye? Not the Hawkeye Pro or Hawkeye Total?

Thanks in advance
Tristan

No....not even with a pro or total either. They only program the BCU.

When you say tune a new ECU, do you mean program a new ECU?
What are you exactly trying to do to the ECU?

Hey dude, sorry if I'm late to the game here. I replaced my faulty ECU with a replacement one from another truck. I took it to my buddy that works on BMW's. I'm not sure what he used but it took all of 20 seconds to sync it up with the BCU and fix all my issues. So...yes it can be done but I'm not sure what was used. I can also tell you I tried till I was blue in the face to do it with a Nanocom and it wouldn't work....for me anyway.

Autologic(they are the biggest in the aftermarket, shoplevel diagnostic equipment for Euro cars) can marry ECU and BCU. That's probably what your buddies shop uses for its diag and repairs.

It's possible a high level snap-on scanner may be able to do it as well, but I haven't bothered to look for that function in our shops unit as we have the Autologic to use
