Can't use a weight distributing system on a trailer with surge brakes. if he has the 4pin towing harness, all he needs to do is buy a 4-5pin adapter, and tap the extra wire to his reverse lights, to trigger the lockout solenoid. As for tongue weight, you can adjust where the boat sits on the trailer to adjust the tongue weight. Load farther behind the axles = less tongue weight.

WOW, I never thought I would read that statement on this forum...they were all made in the UK, not a "better spec" because you imported from the US...and IMO, the TD5 is a MUCH better engine...again, IMO.

I think he was just talking about the V8. I think you could only get the 4.6L in the North America Spec disco.

Default Your crazy!

Other than moving the boat around a yard, I think you are ...king nuts!

I have a 26 foot Regulator that probally comes in around 8,000+ lbs, (twins, 215 gal of gas x 6.5 lbs, gear) and I tow it with an F250 that is rated to tow 10,000 and it takes all of that to tow it around town or down the highway. My F250 is a monster of a truck and it really works pulling the Regulator, I could not imangine moving down the road with it behind a DII, again ... around the yard ok but not down the road.

I do move the empty trailer with the DII and thats no problem!

Good luck and please post a photo!

Only in the NAS was the 4.6L engine offered, everywhere else either had the 3.9 petrol, the TD5 or the MPI (4 cylinder OHC)

Thanks Spike and jafir for clarifying...I still can't imagine though someone choosing a petrol over a TD5, especially for towing, but I guess it is all relative.
