You are absolutely correct.
Disabling the TC/ABS will disable the F/R brake proportioning, as that is handled by the SLABS in a D2, versus a proportioning valve in the D1/RRC.
The last time I mentioned it, our resident keyboard commando Disco Mike threatened me with... well, whatever it is you threaten someone with on a forum, so here's the information cited from the factory service manual discussing the same thing, lest he come down on you also.

So, to extrapolate this, when the 3 Amigos are calling and showing their lights in fact the SLABS front/rear brake proportioning is also defunct, which makes sense.
