Default Discovery II Parasitic Draw

I have a 2001 D2 and the battery drains in about five days. Did a parasitic draw test and found it was fuse number F17. This is for the speaker circuit. When the fuse is pulled the head unit will turn on but no sound will come out of the speakers. Any tips on the specific possible cause of the parasitic draw from that circuit?

As far as I can tell the system operates normally when in use which tells me it is probably not a frayed wire on a body panel or something along those lines...could it be the amp? Do these vehicles have an amp?

Thanks for any help guys. I don't want to start ripping off door panels before I get some advice.

FYI the parasitic draw test yielded about a .7 amp draw with the fuse, .04 amp without.

have you left fuse number F17 out for 5-6 days to make sure your battery does not go dead?

No, but I am confident that that's the problem. The obvious current drop when I pull that fuse tells me that has to be what is causing my dead battery.

I know now with further research there is an amp. Anyone know if these are prone to failing in a way that may increase their parasitic draw? Amplifiers are known to have this problem I just don't know what to do about it short of replacing it all together.

I've had the fuse pulled for a couple days with a battery that was barely charged and have not had any problems. I now know for sure that something in the speaker circuit is causing the problem.

Anyone know the best place to start? Thanks for the help.

If you have an amp, it's under the driver's seat. Check there first.
