Default Discovery No Spark 2,4,5&7 Cyl

Replaced the engine finally on my 2003 Land Rover Discovery w/out secondary air with a 2004 engine. The swap has gone fine except for getting spark to half of the cylinders. Coil pack had been replaced, getting signal from ecm and swapped out the computer just to see and the problem persist. Anyone have a clue where else to look? One coil pack was bad but makes no sense to me why not getting a spark at these cylinders. Of course there are codes being thrown up but there are a dozen codes all resulting from the misfire. Please help, this is my 3rd Rover had a love for them but have never had so much aggravation with one before.

Doesn't make a lot of sense. you've got the loss of spark split between the coils, and the listed misfires don't follow the paired cylinders (they sort of do, 4&7 are paired lost spark cylinders) but 2 &5 aren't. If you don't have a RAVE manual, I'd suggest downloading and looking at the engine management section. BTW how did you end up with a non secondary air 2003? I thought all 03 (US models) were SAI.

No clue how I ended up with that engine, thought all of them had been left in Europe. I bought the Rover used in Alabama and VIN reflects as US model. I have been splitting hairs with a few people looking at the schematics and it is not suppose to be acting this way. I am hoping someone out there may have experienced something similiar as you say lost of spark split between the coils and doesn't make sense

Have you checked for issues with the spark plug wires?
