DIY Roof Rack
Hah thats what i kind of did however there is little space in that channel so i welded the bolt on tab instead of drilling and passing through
The front one opens no problem. Make the support tabs 4 inches tall instead of 2.5 inches tall if you want the back one to open too (Item J) in the plans.

V2.0 has a redesign using 9 0.5 in supports instead of 4 5/8 in supports. This way you can use it without overlaying a floor plate. It's also half the price for materials since 0.5 in square steel tubing is common and 5/8 in steel is less common.

Hope you all enjoy the plans, which now include the brackets. I've also attached a picture of the $2.99 bracket from Princess Auto in its original form for your reference. You can find it in their "Surplus" aisle.

hey Jean, I bought your roof rack assembly over a year ago on eBay, had to put it down because of lack of time. Now it's quite rusty and half assembled, what do you think of adding a hatch above the front sunroof to allow access to the roof via cabin?
