MX468 your a dashboard saver, that was so easy once you know it needs an allen key. popped straight out. Now I've just got the fun of trying to re-wire the thing to fit my new one especially as it seems to have a CD changer that I didn't know about until now..

Anyways thanks all for your help. I've attached a picture of the mechanism and the part number etc to help anyone else who has the same issue.
