Do you guys mostly like Discos specifically, or are you also into LR overall?

I actually saw a mint condition fully restored FC101 in Lumberton, TX at the beginning of the year. It was flawless inside and out without a spec of rust anywhere on it. Those are very unique vehicles! I'd love an old Defender ambulance or an ex Military H1 ambulance, I would do exactly what you were thinking and make it a true expedition vehicle.

We have one of those in the club, FC 101, it is cool but poor turning radius

I remember my dad liking them after a Superbowl commercial and he raced down to see one in person. The first words out of his mouth was dang it's tiny lol! He ended up going for a 4x4 Tahoe instead & absolutely loved it for many many many many years. Only thing that fell apart quickly were the poorly made so called leather seats.
Mine had 295K when l gave it to my son to drive to college, 325K when he was done. Eventually, sold it to a kid for 700.00 dollars...and he drove it for another year or so. The 4.3 and 3.8 were probably two of best motors of their day. And yep, l'd truly forgotten how tiny they were.

I still love the 88-93 GMC/Chevy S-10, would love to own one with a 4.3. My first new car was a 2nd Gen Sonoma with the 2.2L 4 and a 5 speed manual trans. I bought it in 'SLS' trim an the only options on the sticker were AC and the CD radio!

As far as Land Rovers are concerned, I love the look of the Classic Range Rover line, but I ADORE the look of the D1/D2 and feel like the D2 is bound to be a classic. Nothing else matches it with a V8, Solid Axles, Comfort for up to 7, a comfy interior, great driving position and passenger positions, the alpine windows (I loved the sliders on my FZJ80, only thing I feel like it has on the D2) and it just oozes with style. I would love to lease a Range Rover, but I am happy to own D2's.

As for Bronco vs. Defender - I am choosing the Bronco hands down. Factory 35's, stick and a wash down vinyl interior? Sign me up! (4 door, Black Diamond, Sasquatch Package) - I think it'll be a riot to take the kayaks/paddleboards down to the lake and for weekend trips when I want to put the top down, but even when I add that to my fleet, the D2 will still have a place.
