Default Dodged a bullet!!....for now

and you can too. Ever since it got cold I've been having to "prime " the fuel system with the ol' turn the key to position 2 a few times trick, on the first start up of the day...and things would be fine for the rest of the day. Well....I know that with my mileage it's probably time to change the fuel pump, and with it the fuel filter. And while all of this sounds like a great deal of fun at 8 degrees F, I decided to take the 2 step approach and just do the filter yesterday since that had to be done anyway....and guess what ...for now that seems to have corrected the hard start issue. Damn! the ethanol fuel. I'm going to do the pump anyway soon but for those of you with a similar starting issue ....change that filter !
For what it's worth, before the filter change you could hear the pump run for quite a few seconds, now it very quickly primes maybe 3-4 seconds max.

I have the part numbers for rebuilding your fuel pump thanks to AK Rover.
I will post them and you can rebuild your fuel pump for $90.

I wish I could have gone that route.
I had a total of 4 hours to fix/replace my fuel pump in 20*F temps on Sun so I just replaced mine.
