Default dome lights

My dome lights are staying on for long periods of time before the shut off. they have stayed on as long as 10 minutes before finally turning off.
This happens when I get out of the car and even when I first get in to drive it.

any ideas?

thanks guys

Controlled by the BCU. On a D1 they are run by the multifunction unit. If worried about amp drain, swap out interior dome lamps for LED. Brighter and lighter (on the amps).

great idea I will do that, I thought maybe a door pin (that tells the BCU the door is closed) would be suspect? Electrical is not my thing at all.
Thanks for all the Help Savannah Buzz I am getting ready to post all of my findings on the inline thermostat to help guys make an educated decision on it, but it looks as if the soft spring t stat I keep hearing about might be the easiest solution (if it really works) because it is an easy swap.
However I LOVE my inline system, it is works great for keeping my temps nice and stable, anyway this is for another thread.

thanks again

Soft spring works. In Line works. Soft spring is easier to do as you don't have to change hoses.

No door pin switch, comes from the lock motors. Hood switch is present. Lock motor switches run to BCU via headers near the heater fan. Driver door on one header, others gang to gether on C0291. A skinned wired or connector full of water making a ground on any of this will keep dome lights on.
