the dome lights and light around the ignition key always stay on. They never time off after I close the doors, I have to manually flip the front and rear dome light off and unplug the middle one. And the ignition key light is just always on and drains the battery after a few weeks if I don't drive it. All the doors are registering with the car as closed. It must be something wrong with whatever computer controls the lights off timer? I'm not sure what computer controls that. Any ideas?

Check the door switch first

 

I did, my nancom says they are closed, and the alarm does not honk at me when I lock it with my fob

 

Figured it out! I was convinced the BCU was malfunctioning and not turning off the lights so I located the 'courtesy lamps' wire coming out of the computer (wire 9) and cut it, thinking I could just plug in after market light timer. The lights did not turn off when I cut it. So I inspected all 3 dome lights and the one in the very back of the truck was an absolute mess, I don't know what the previous owner was thinking but it was made out of scrap metal on the inside and was causing the courtesy wire to be in contact with the ON backplate. anyway, fixed the short and re-attach the cable back to the BCU and we're back in business!
