I have a 2000 Disco that is having door locking problems. First the front drivers door stop unlocking from the key fob and theinside main control and a couple days later the front passenger started doing the same. Both doors will lock from the key fob but they wont unlock. I might of jumped the gun but I bought new lock accuators. Should this fix the problem or could there be something else that may be the problem. I looked at removing the lock acuators and saw 3 torx screws on the doorjam is that all that is holding them in. Any helpfull hints would help.

On our 2004 model we encountered a similar issue with the right-rear passenger door. It was very erratic in how it operated and I do know the dealer replaced the actuator on that door but unfortunately I can't tell you how as it was done under manufacturer's warranty so the mechanic did all the work. I'll be bummed when our warranty goes out but I do think we'll probably invest in an extended warranty, but heck that'll be out someday too so I might as well learn how to do this stuff because eventually I'll be doing a lot of this myself ! Anyway if anyone else can post more on the technical aspects of how to change the actuator please feel free to contribute.
