Door Remote Trouble?
When we bought the car it only had one key (the owner is looking for the other) the remote is broken you can visibly see this. So you have to unlock the driver door with the key which disarms the alarm, I have to open the other doors manually from the inside by pulling the door handles. How do I get a new remote and do I need to have someone (Rover) program the new remote or can I do it myself?? I tried turning the key twice and nothing but the driver's door unlocks. Any ideas on the remote please let us know.
Thanks,
Lucille

Yes you must buy a new remote from the dealer and only they can program it for you.
If you buy one off of e-bay the dealer will not program it for you.
Your power door lock actuators are bad and thats why you need to unlock the doors by hand.
Make damn sure you lube the key hole with silicon spray before the lock mechanism breaks and you cant get into the truck at all.
Do this every 6 months as well as the latch to the cargo door, pop the Land Rover emblem off of the cargo door and spray the handle, open the door and lube the latch too.
When it gets dirty it will jamb and you wont get the door open.
Again every 6 months.

Lucille, in Canada go to Krown Rust Control and purchase their lube: it's fantastic. You can also find the older formulation at Home Hardware but the new one can't be beat!
Seriously, even after you solve the remote problem, lube the locks.

Trying turning the key 2 times to unlock the other doors. If that works, that is the way the ECU is set up and that can be changed sometime if you do get a remote by reseting the ECU.
