I know there is a lot of old posts out there on this but they all concentrate on the dash and cutting it which is the easy part (easy as far as making room, harder if you want it to look factory) but I need some info from those of you that have done the swap on how you actually supported the unit. I've really only had cars with side brackets before. Did you bend or trim the metal braket behind the dash to help support it did you buy a universal double din cage and attach it to the dash somehow? Thanks for any help and advice.
I bought a double din cage. It is supported in the front by the dash and I ground down a bolt to put into the back of the unit (where you can bolt the unit to the vehicle from behind) to fit into the hole the rubber bung on the stock radio fits.
