Drivers seat up down function mystery
Hello all,
I've had my disco for a few years and I can't remember a time when my up function on the up/down motor for the front of the seat has worked .
so far:
-taken switch out, and cleaned all contacts (tedious job as it turns out!)
- switched the passenger seat switch for the drivers seat. Still no dice.
-checked all fuses, and connectors underneath seat. They are all seated correctly and fuses are good.
it's all pointing to a bad motor for the front up/down function. The rear of the seat works just fine.
has anyone seen something similar before?
is there a manual adjustment that can be made?
thanks in advance!

Yes, the thermal overload in your motor is permanently open. You can open the motor and try to bypass/solder it, or swap in a good motor, or just disconnect it and make the adjustment you want and the put it back.
Thanks for the reply!
How would I go about getting to that motor? Do I need to unbolt the seat, or just pull the cushion up? (Or both?)
I'm thinking making a manual adjustment and leaving it that way is the route I eventually want to take.

roger doger. Methinks I could get a used seat motor on ebay but then again, that's a longshot. Trying to operate on a Pick-n-pull truck would be a better option. We don't get many Discos at the junkyards here in Augusta GA, though.
