Default dying seat motor?..

So my beloved Bertha is testing me today. Decided I wanted to move some things this morning and put the passenger seat all the way up to the dash. Retracted the seat back to its original position for a couple of hours as I had a passenger with me and when I returned to put the seat forward this afternoon, it moved about 4 inches forward and would not go any further. I thought perhaps something was impeding movement.. 'something must be stuck, caught on the track, seatbelt catching the seat, etc.' but after looking under there I don't see anything that would be causing this. Does this sound like it could be a motor behaving badly? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

So it still works, but only limited travel?
Or it no longer does anything?

Pull the switch and check with a meter. From my experience those go bad far more often!

limited travel - like 4 inches.. BUT... I feel I should apologize for this thread now because I found the culprit. I got tough with it and yelled at it and pushed the button really hard while doing that and..... I heard a 'pop!' I looked down and there was a tube of chapstick smeared all over the side of the seat console. haha..

thanks guys.

Well, you are going to look pretty silly, sticking your head down there, using that Chapstick ......especially if there is a passenger.

Don't beat yourself up too much KD as my wife shoves all kinds of crud under her seat which gets wrapped around the motorised lead screw that moves the seat. I've extracted poly bags, handbag shoulder straps, sweet wrappers , you name it, it's been there Is it time to relegate her to the rear seats I ask myself ................... hmmm, her wittering on behind me could be the worst kind of back seat driver hmmm, ear plugs, what a great idea

Well after the outcry and response to the above 'social media' Chapstick Ad in 2011, perhaps I should contact Chapstick's marketing team and suggest that they use dusty's idea instead? Do you think society would have the same response to a woman sticking her head down there, applying chapstick with a passenger in the front seat of a Rover, as they did to the aforementioned ad? Sheesh.. some people need to get a sense of humor.... Apparently we ALL know that lost chapsticks fall down the crack between the seat and Rover console and confuse poor, innocent women all day..
