The other night i heard a piece of metal clink around and hit the ground upon opening the drivers side door. it was dark and could never find the piece. i am trying to figure out what i need to do to replace the metal arm (see pics below) and if it is worth driving the 160 miles to try and find the piece? Any one know what this part is referred to? Do I need the entire assembly or just the arm and pin? Thanks in advance!
From your picture the arm is still there, just sticking out of the door a little bit, all you are missing is the little tapered pin. Just find a bolt that fits and a nylon lock nut for it, pull flat rod/bar out from door, align holes and drop bolt through, then put lock nut on bottom and tighten up enough to engage nylon lock part but don't squeeze the metal bracket down tight on the rod. Pulling the rod out of the door might be hard, ours is quite firm and I took it out of the door and pried it open some to loosen it.
