Default Drivers side window

So I've searched the forums and couldn't find anything on the problems I'm having.

To make a long story short the previous owner said he replaced all the windo regulators. When I bought the Disco the drivers side window would roll down but if you hit the auto down it would just try to keep going. Sounded like it just wanted to rip through the bottom of the door.

So I opened the door up and saw one of the bolts were missing from the regulator so I took it all out and reinstalled it. Worked fine for a few days.

One morning driving to work I had the window down and it made a clunk noise. Went to roll it back up and nothing so I popped the panel and checked it. It was as if the x bracket had locked itself. So I assisted it up while pressing the button and it went up. I tightened all the scews back up and same thing it got stuck. It's almost as if the window rolls down too far for the regulator.

I checked the teeth on the motor and that's fine, I tried unplugging it and seeing if something needed to be reset and even tried leaving the bolts loose which seems to work but eventually pulls it back out of allignment.

Anyone had a problem like this? I'm having a hard time figuring this out.

Most window tracks have a hard stop somewhere. I'd remove the assembly and see if I could cycle the regulator separate from the door and door glass. You might find more missing parts or something broken/bent.

Im going to remove it again tonight and recheck everything. It seems like it just needs to be adjusted or like you said bent but when I checked it last time I couldn't find anything.

often the gears get misalligned. It will seem like its grabing together but it slips. Other than that, check if you are missing the plastic roller. If its missing, the shaft sometimes get caught in the key hole slot that jams the riser.

So I pulled it all out and it seems that the teeth on the regulator were bent at the end, the motor gear looks fine but when it drives the window down it slips over the last bent tooth and tries to keep going. I somehow missed it last time I looked at it. Im going to order a new regulator and see if that does the trick.

Thanks for the help LR03NJ!
